Run away mom - crying baby - adoption
Things change quickly around here! It has been an emotional roller-coaster the last 24 hours. Last night around 10:00, baby Elizabete's mom ran-away. Not sure what to do, I went out looking for her. This is mom''s 3rd time to bail on her baby and has been warned the next time will result in loosing her. I got the baby ready for bed praying momma would come home soon. All night long I was praying for momš safety and Elizabete''s future. Any noise I hear, I hope it is her coming home. We woke up round 7:00 for a morning bottle and some cuddle time, but mom is still not back. Around 9:30am, mom comes in to get her things. She says very little and grabs all her belongings, except for her most important one, baby Elizabete. She leaves without any care for her baby and turns her back on any hope of having her in her life. Social workers are called and a pick-up is arranged for baby Elizabete to go to an orphanage in Riga. My heart is broken for baby and mom. Their futures are unknown and in God's hands.
...and then things change!
I am outside watching Elizabete and a younger couple walks up. They are here to see baby Elizabete, to possibly adopt her. As we all stand there crying, I realize that God has a plan in everything. Though heartache and confusion, He will overcome everything with something so much greater.
Now we wait for documents to be processed and final decision for baby Elizabete to be adopted.
My heart aches for mom and what her future holds. She is only 16 and has no family support to help her see a better way. I rejoice that Elizabete will have a family that loves her the way she deserves to be loved.
Please pray the family decides to adopt baby Elizabete, so she can receive all the love and attention she deserves.
